Cypress Lakes Course Details - Destrehan Golf
A player friendly design, superb conditioning and a reverence for mother nature are the hallmarks of truly great golf courses, and Cypress Lakes Country Club is no exception.
Cypress Lakes is a well laid out par-72, 6556-yard golf course, fit seamlessly with its surroundings of 17 ponds and 20 year-old Cypress trees, in perfect harmony with nature. Generous Bermuda fairways surround Bermuda greens, with 40 strategically placed bunkers and several forced carries over wetlands and water creating both an exhilarating challenge and a splendid backdrop for golf.
While challenging enough to test the mettle of scratch golfers, the multiple sets of tees on each hole help new and less experienced golfers enjoy the subtle nuances and design elements. The golf course is the cornerstone of the Ormond community, an upscale neighborhood of approximately 500 homes.
Driving Range and Practice Area
Members can hone their skills at Cypress Lakes full-club practice range, the ideal setting for perfecting every aspect of the game in a picturesque environment. Located next to the #1 tee, the driving range and putting/chipping areas feature:
- 400-yard full-club driving range with multiple targets
- Natural grass teeing area
- Putting green
- Chipping area
A variety of private and group instructional programs taught by our PGA professionals are available to Members and their guests. In addition to hosting player development programs for juniors and adults, features men’s and women’s leagues, annual Member/Guest and Member/Member tournaments for men and women, and the Annual Club Championships for men and women in both match and medal play.
Dress Code
As a courtesy to all Members and guests of Cypress Lakes Country Club we enforce our dress code. It is required that all persons on the golf course be dressed in proper attire. No cut off shirts and/or cut or ripped shorts. All shorts must be of an appropriate length. Collared shirts appreciated but some mock t-shirts and other golf shirts will be allowed. Tasteful denim pants are allowed. If you are unsure whether you are dressed properly, please contact the golf shop for more details.
